So here is my entry for Week 6 of Project Designer.
We had to design 2 tops, 2 bottoms, and 1 jacket using 2 fabrics from the 9 choices. All are to be designed for the strawberry smoothie boutique, for a woman who is going on a trip to the bahamas.

I designed 3 outfits for her trip. I really tried to think of what people wear on their trips to the islands...obviously it has to be something comfortable, light weight/ breathable, and of course cute! I also wanted all the items to be interchangeable and can be dressed up or down. They all have a sophisticated beachy look.

1. The Jacket: is very versatile and is made from a woven bamboo fabric. Can be worn alone as a top or layered over either of the 2 tops designed. It has a cute contemporary look with a mandarin collar and wide hook & eye closures in the center front (no placket or lapels).

2. The Blue Skirt: is a 2 tiered silk paisley print with a wide waistband and tab front closure. This is really the dressier of the pieces and worn with the jacket is a cute outfit to wear out at night.

3. The White Top: is a bamboo jersey fabric with keyhole detail and rope straps. Also has a wooden o-ring in the front. This top can be worn with either of the bottoms.

4. The White Shorts: are made from the same white woven bamboo fabric as the jacket. They have a rolled cuff hem with side tabs to keep them from rolling down. They also have 2 strings on each side which can be knotted (as seen in right outfit) or tied in a bow (as seen on center outfit).

5. The Orange Top: is an orange chiffon top with a large tropical paisley print. It's an off the shoulder top with a slight cowl neckline and armhole. Meant to be worn blousy. (worn with white shorts)

All accessories are sold separately... on that note, i tried to accessorize the girls with the same orange and blue tie-dye scarf just used in different ways (twice in the hair, once on the waist).

The Challenge:
Remember in Cycle 3, the Lemon Meringue challenge? Well in this challenge you will have to create 3 looks for a store called Strawberry Smoothie, but they only have a limited amount of products. 2 Shirts, 2 Bottoms, and 1 jacket/coat. It's up to you to create 3 different looks to attract customers to the store using 2 Shirts, 2 Bottoms, and 1 jacket/coat. But you must also use two of these fabrics (colors and patterns as well) You may use solid colors and other fabrics as well, but you MUST use two of these fabrics (one fabric for each garment.). You may use layering if you wish and jewelry. Additionally, your woman is going on a trip to the Bahamas, so style and design accordingly.
